Stare at the Wall- The ‘Creative’ Way to Alter Consciousness

My good friend Martin recently told me of a new meditation for my “Ways to Alter Consciousness” blog. I tried it, and like it, so I will share it.

We all know that out of all of the ways to alter consciousness, meditation is one of the most powerful. It can put you into an altered and peaceful state. In this walking/staring meditation, designed to bring forth your creative juices toward a task, you begin by walking near the water or in nature. As you walk, you consciously feel yourself at one with the water, a leaf, a blade of grass, etc. etc.

If you come across a soda can or half eaten apple, just feel yourself at one with that. Avoid labels such as that’s good, that’s bad. That’s clean, that’s dirty. Just let those thoughts slip away and be at one with all of it.

After that you want to sit in a quiet place, preferably near the water. You want to feel every sensation, the sounds, the smells and the sights. Be in the moment and in the now and practice mindfulness. Let your peace come and reside in you.

When you feel a deep peace and oneness you can get up and make your way back to a place where there is a blank wall. It may be outside your house or inside- as long as it is peaceful and quiet. You will now need a recorder, sketch pad, or notebook and you will simply stare at the wall, not trying to do or be anything, and be ‘at one’ with it. Just as you were outside.

Soon the universe will begin to work through you. Write, record, or sketch. Don’t let your brain take over. If you feel your oneness slipping away, go back to staring and being at one with the wall.

I can tell you that this meditation is one of my powerful ways to alter consciousness in my work environment. If it does for you what it did for me, it will bring a new depth to your work, and a new sense of joy in the creation.

I hope you will too.

How can you alter what you believe when the experiences you have had has convinced you otherwise? The simple answer to that is to design a new experience. The best way for you to achieve that new experience is to meditate about how you can fix the way you respond to what happens. Meditating to help turn a bad situation into something good can be as simple as: 1+ 1 = 2. Acting as though what happens to you is the best thing that can happen to you plus the new benefits just equal happiness in your life.

When you are convinced of the truth that everything that happens is the best thing that can happen, life will Begin to be much more fun. It is like opening a new channel to happiness. All you need to know when meditating is happiness is there, waiting just for you. All you need to do is follow the method that makes it possible. You have to remember also that unhappiness is also out there, waiting just for you.

The way you respond through meditation will determine which one you will be dealing with in your life. It is not necessary to have all the ingredients of a procedure in hand at the outset. They will arrive at the appointed time. It’s only important that you move forward with the project that you have started until that appointed time shows up. With the energy you design through meditation by progressing as if you had the finances to start your journey, you actually put into motion a start of events that will lead you to your success.

Your actions make an energy that pulls in the mandatory ingredients of your journey you have ventured into. All that you need for your venture is, in actuality, already out there, waiting for you. You just need to pull in what is requested. There is really nothing more to all of this except for you not forgetting to keep an open mind and find that peace that is hidden deep within you.

The results that occur with meditation that cause you to feel happiness, which then proves to you that this is how things really do function-and this leads you to soon believe that all does indeed happen for your benefit. When you see that is true, that is when the deep sighs of relief will come and that meditation can definitely help you see the light.

The internet is a really great place to discover all of the information that you would need about meditation, in case you have an interest in learning more about it for your own benefits. How to Properly Handle an Alzheimer’s Patient With Paranoia

August 12th, 2008 Brian T. Willie Posted in Meditation No Comments »

by Brian T. Willie

The paranoia and suspicion of a person with Alzheimer’s can be one of the most difficult behaviors for their caregiver to handle. As the Alzheimer’s develops and targets your loved ones memory, they’ll gradually become more confused and perceive things they would have once though normal, in new ways.

This is not only due to their inability to remember certain people, but also places and things, and the fact that they can’t remember themselves as well.

People with Alzheimer’s will often confront their loved ones, accusing them of theft, improper behavior or even infidelity. Many times they’re getting their feelings from ones they’ve had in the past from different people or different times.

An Alzheimer’s patient confuses people, events and times and can associate an event with the wrong person. For example, maybe their ex-husband had an affair so now they believe their current spouse is doing the same.

So what’s the best way to deal with all of this? The key is to meet their paranoid behavior head on with pure patience and understanding. Just know that this is going to occur, and take a deep breath. You may be offended by their paranoia, but it’s not personal.

They are confused and hurt. Listen to them and just try to understand what they are feeling. Don’t argue or convince them they are wrong. Just let them know you love them and you are sorry they feel that way. Let them express their ideas, but always keep your responses short and easy to understand.

To take their mind off of their suspicions, suggest another activity and focus on keeping them occupied. Ask them for help with a chore, play a game you know they’ll enjoy or make a meal together. To avoid their suspicions in the future, buy your loved one two of each item they value and often lose.

For instance, if they tend to lose their handbag or wallet, buy two that are exactly the same so that they won’t be suspicious that you stole it. Paranoia and suspicion will often pass, but it’s important to keep your cool and remain understanding. The more worked up your loved one gets the more paranoid they become.

How to Allow Your Heart’s Desires

August 1st, 2008 Dick Ingersoll Posted in Meditation No Comments »

by Dick Ingersoll

“Allowing,” in relation to the Law of Attraction is a tough thing to describe because it’s a state of being, rather than a state of doing. It’s a process of releasing any effort to control what occurs around you and instead allowing the cosmos to work on your behalf.

Remaining in a state of allowance can be trying for some people since they are so used to taking action in order to obtain what they want. Allowing your heart’s desires may seem contrary to this approach, but it’s honestly just a matter of taking varying actions and choosing the right mind-set.

In the Following you will find some simple steps to help you flow easily into a state of allowing.

Sit in silence.

Meditation is the fastest and simplest way to get into a state of allowance since it places you immediately into the process of observing and being, rather than doing. As you center on releasing fear and anxiety, you invite a flood of inner peace and acceptance in to replace them. This mind-set removes blockages and eliminates resistance, which leaves only . . . allowance!

Do what you love as often as possible.

Allowing is not just about getting what you want, but rather figuring out how to open up to the natural flow of joy, passion and abundance that is open to you at all times. When you do what you love, you automatically draw a flood of positive energy into your life. Yes, this can absolutely help you attract something you want, but it also sets you up to receive a lot more than you asked for. Rather than just gaining one thing you desired, you find yourself in a constant state of astonishment and joy as more and more great things come your way.

Think positively.

This should be a no-brainer, because the majority of us are completely aware of the rewards of positive thinking. However, don’t restrict your positive thinking in relation to your immediate goal only! Learn to construct a true positive thinking habit, and spread it evenly through your entire life. Think positively, speak positively and act positively as often as possible. You’ll be happier, increase the frequency of your energy and remain in a constant state of allowance.

Have unwavering faith.

Many of us tend to flip-flop between extreme faith and crushing doubt. Our faith is sturdy when everything is going well but the instant we run into obstacles, doubt knocks us out of kilter. The real test of faith is being able to hold it while in the midst of difficulty! It may not be easy, but don’t forget that having faith is a choice. You can choose to trust in and know that everything will be fine, or you can choose to think it won’t. When difficulties come knocking on your door, choose your mind-set carefully.

Detach completely.

Most of us tend to revert back to childish antics when we want something. We assume if we can just nag the universe to death, it will give in and give us what we want. So we continue meditating and praying and visualizing. We spend hours mentally begging for what we want, and fixate on it constantly. This is not allowing - it is clinging and grasping! The universe heard your request the first time, so there is no need to continue asking. Instead, tell yourself that time may be needed before it will show up, or it’s also possible that you won’t get what you requested - but you may get something much better!

Be open to whatever comes your way, knowing with all of your heart that it will be absolutely perfect in all ways.
